Conflict Management Course
Conflicts can happen in any workplace and in any industry, regardless of the size of business or organisation and can happen between staff or between staff and members of the public, creating risks to staff and damage to the reputation of the business.
Therefore knowing how to avoid and resolve conflicts in the workplace is essential for anyone in a job that involves working with others or serving members of the public and the development of conflict management skills can give staff confidence to deal with difficult situations.
Tommy Tucker offers bespoke conflict management training from as little as 1.5 hours, although 3 hours is recommended as a minimum. Bespoke conflict management courses can be customised to individual work environments and a Certificate of Continuing Professional Development is issued to students.

Course Outline
The Conflict Management training course can be tailored to your individual business or organisation and is designed to train staff in how to prevent and handle conflicts that occur in their workplace, explaining how conflicts are caused and how to prevent or deal with them through effective conflict resolution methods.
The Conflict Management training provides participants with practical tips, techniques and strategies to calmly and effectively deal with conflicts or potential conflicts that may occur during their working day.
The course covers:
- How to assess and reduce risks in conflict situations
- Recognising and understanding the signs of conflict and aggression
- Stages of conflict escalation
- Skills to stay calm and maintain composure when responding to conflict and aggression
- Managing body language during conflict
- Effective communication to manage conflict and reduce the likelihood of conflicts occurring
- Safety awareness during conflicts
- The law relating to conflict management
Course Duration
The course is a minimum of 16 hours spread over 2 days. Ideally the course should be run over 2 consecutive days. 11 hours are guided learning but may be adjusted in accordance with students' needs.
Participant Restrictions
Students for the Conflict Management training course must be a minimum of 16 years. A maximum of 12 students can attend each course.
Assessment and Marking
The qualification is assessed through a 1.5 hour multiple choice examination and candidates must score 20 or more out of 30 to pass.
